Collin Snider - Takes second loss Wednesday Snider (2-2) took the extra-inning loss against the Tigers on Wednesday, allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk while recording one strikeout over one-third of an inning.
Impact Snider allowed a game-winning double to pinch hitter Akil Baddoo just three hitters into his 10th-inning stint on the mound. The right-hander hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 10 appearances, although he's invited some trouble by allowing at least one hit in six of those outings and issuing a free pass in three of them as well. Nevertheless, Snider's impressive swing-and-miss stuff seems to get him out of jams more often than not, as he boasts a 10.1 K/9 across 24 innings this season.

Impact Haniger had started in all but two of the Mariners' previous 18 games, but he'll hit the bench Thursday and looks like he could be at risk of losing hold of his near-everyday role with both Dominic Canzone and Julio Rodriguez recently making returns from the injured list. Canzone will start in right field Thursday, while Rodriguez is out of the lineup after aggravating a right ankle injury Wednesday, though the Mariners don't believe the 23-year-old will have to return to the IL. Assuming Rodriguez is back in action in short order as the Mariners' primary designated hitter, Haniger may have to settle for the short side of a platoon in the outfield with the lefty-hitting Canzone.
