GAME LOG

INJURIES

Taking seat Sunday Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Impact With Austin Hays (hamstring) landing on the injured list Friday, Rojas looks to have moved back into a near-everyday role in center field. Rojas started in each of the past three games, going 2-for-11 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI. Though Cal Stevenson will get the nod in center field Sunday, Rojas' speed and defense should make him the preferred third option in the outfield until Hays returns from the IL.

Swipes bag, scores twice Rojas went 1-for-2 with a stolen base, two runs scored and a walk in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.
Impact Rojas didn't start the contest and took over center field for Brandon Marsh in the third inning as the latter shifted to left field. Rojas then singled and stole second in his first at-bat before coming around to score Philadelphia's fourth run of the game on a Kyle Schwarber double. The outfielder reached twice on the night and he's now hit safely in each of his first two games to open the month of August. The stolen base was Rojas' 18th of the season and his first since July 9 against these same Dodgers.
AUGUST 8 • ROTOWIRE
Losing work to Hays Rojas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.
Impact Rojas is on the bench for a third straight game, with the Phillies facing off against right-handed starting pitchers on two of those occasions. He appears to have moved into a fourth-outfielder role following the recent acquisition of Austin Hays. Rojas can provide value off the bench for the Phillies as a late-inning defensive replacement and pinch runner, but it'll be difficult to extract much fantasy utility from him while he's not getting regular starting opportunities.

Sitting down Saturday Rojas isn't in the Phillies' lineup Saturday versus the Guardians, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Impact Rojas will take a seat Saturday after going 1-for-2 during a loss in Friday's series opener. Brandon Marsh will slide over to center field as a result, allowing Austin Hays to make his Phillies debut while starting in left.

On bench against lefty Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Impact Even though he's a right-handed hitter, Rojas finds himself out of the lineup for the Phillies' third straight matchup with a left-handed starting pitcher (Marco Gonzales). Rojas has still been included in the starting nine for each of the Phillies' last three matchups versus right-handed pitching, so he still looks to have a grasp on primary duties in center field. Rojas has produced a meager .566 OPS since returning from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in late June, but the Phillies lack appealing alternatives and appear to value his defense and speed enough to continue to carve out regular playing time for him.
JULY 21 • ROTOWIRE
On bench Friday Rojas is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates.
Impact Rojas won't be in the starting lineup for the Phillies' first game after the All-Star break. Weston Wilson, Cristian Pache and Nick Castellanos will fill the outfield against Martin Perez and the Pirates.
JULY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Moves past forearm injury Rojas (forearm) will start in center field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Athletics, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Impact Rojas was out of the lineup for Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers after he had been hit in the forearm by a pitch a night earlier, but he returned to the lineup for the Phillies' 5-1 win in Thursday's series finale. He got the night off for Friday's series opener with Oakland but will pick up his second start in a row to close out of the Phillies' pre-All-Star-break schedule. Rojas hit a solo home run -- his third of the season -- in Saturday's 11-5 win, but he'll continue to provide most of his fantasy value on the basepaths (17 steals in 20 attempts) moving forward.
JULY 14 • ROTOWIRE
On bench Friday Rojas is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.
Impact Rojas sustained a forearm injury Tuesday against the Dodgers, and although he was able to enter the Wednesday's contest in the ninth inning for defensive purposes, he hasn't started in back-to-back games. Weston Wilson, Cristian Pache and Nick Castellanos will fill the outfield Friday.
JULY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Comes off bench Wednesday Rojas (forearm) entered the game for defensive purposes in the ninth inning of Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Dodgers.
Impact The 23-year-old was held out of the starting nine after being hit by a pitch Tuesday, but Rojas took over in center field at the end of a tight game and bumped Brandon Marsh to left, so the move appears to have been merely a precaution. Rojas' defense is what continues to earn him playing time -- since returning to the big-league roster at the end of June, he's batting .226 (7-for-31) with a double, two RBI, three steals, seven runs and a 1:10 BB:K.
JULY 11 • ROTOWIRE
Nursing forearm injury Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers after he was removed in the seventh inning of Tuesday's 10-1 win due to an apparent forearm injury, Todd Zolecki...
Impact According to Zolecki, Rojas said after Tuesday's game that he's OK, but the Phillies will give the outfielder at least one day off while he may still be dealing with some residual soreness or bruising to the forearm, which was hit by 97 mile-per-hour Michael Petersen fastball. Brandon Marsh will cover center field in place of Rojas, who had started in each of the last seven games.
JULY 10 • ROTOWIRE
Getting regular run in center Rojas will start in center field and bat ninth in Sunday's game in Atlanta.
Impact Rojas has now occupied center field in eight of the Phillies' nine games since he was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on June 28. Though he's getting on base at a .240 clip since his promotion, Rojas has contributed a pair of stolen bases along with upgrading the Phillies' defense in the outfield. Playing time could be harder to come by for Rojas when Kyle Schwarber (groin) returns from the injured list, however, as Nick Castellanos would see fewer opportunities at designated hitter while taking back a regular spot in right field.
JULY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Heading to bench Sunday Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Impact Rojas will take a seat for the second time in the series, hitting the bench while Brandon Marsh -- who returned from the injured list Saturday -- covers center field in his stead. Though Marsh will likely see most of his reps in left field moving forward, his return could cost Rojas more time if he continues to languish at the plate and the Phillies want to open up more at-bats for David Dahl, who had served as the primary replacement in left field for Marsh.
JUNE 16 • ROTOWIRE
Resting Wednesday Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Impact Rojas will hit the bench for the series finale after he had manned center field in each of the last four games while going 4-for-9 with two doubles, three stolen bases and one run. Cristian Pache will fill in for Rojas in center field.
MAY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Heading to bench Wednesday Rojas is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Impact Rojas will receive a breather in the day game after a night game, ending a stretch of five consecutive starts in center field. Cristian Pache will fill in for Rojas in the field and will bat ninth in the series finale.

Sitting out Thursday Rojas is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Impact The Phillies are going with Brandon Marsh in center field and Whit Merrifield in left field for the series opener. Rojas did have a three-hit game earlier this week, but it represented more than half of his hit total for the season (five).
APRIL 11 • ROTOWIRE
Not in Sunday's lineup Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Washington, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Impact Rojas is 1-for-22 through eight games this season and will head to the bench Sunday. Cristian Pache will take over in center field for the series finale versus the Nationals.
APRIL 7 • ROTOWIRE
Handling center field Friday Rojas is starting in center field and batting ninth in Friday's opener against Atlanta.
Impact Rojas had a rough spring training in slashing just .170/.214/.264 while working on swing changes the Phillies had him incorporate. He'll have to reach a certain bar offensively in order to keep his job, but the Phillies have such confidence in Rojas' defense that he should have a little bit of leash.
