Impact There's no word yet on what the MRI taken on Ryan's right triceps on Thursday showed, but the club appears slated to be without the hurler at least for the next couple weeks. Ryan had to be removed from his last outing Wednesday versus the Cubs in the third inning after his triceps tightened up on him. More clarity on Ryan's situation should be available soon.

Nursing triceps tightness Ryan was lifted from Wednesday's start versus the Cubs in the third inning due to right triceps tightness, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Ryan threw three pitches in the bottom of the third inning before calling for the trainer and eventually walking off the field. The Twins should have more information regarding the pitcher's condition after the game. Ryan was charged with one run on one hit with two strikeouts over two-plus innings before being pulled.
AUGUST 7 • ROTOWIRE
Exits start due to injury Ryan was removed from Wednesday's start against the Cubs in the bottom of the third inning with an undisclosed injury, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Impact Ryan called for the trainer after delivering a pitch to Pete Crow-Armstrong, who was leading off the third inning for the Cubs. After a brief conversation with the Twins trainer and manager Rocco Baldelli, Ryan exited without throwing a warmup pitch. He allowed one run on one hit over two-plus frames before being lifted.

Cruises to seventh win Ryan (7-7) earned the win Friday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.
Impact The Minnesota right-hander took care of business against a feeble Chicago lineup, picking up his first post-All-Star break win in this 103-pitch performance. The only blemish on his evening came in the third inning when Miguel Vargas launched a two-run homer to left field. Ryan has now pitched to a 3.59 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 145:23 K:BB across 133 innings this season. The 28-year-old is scheduled to make his next against the Cubs at Wrigley Field next week.

Fans eight in tough loss Ryan (6-7) allowed three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight over six innings Saturday, taking the loss versus the Tigers.
Impact Ryan took a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning but couldn't hold it as he allowed the go-ahead runs to score and end up being tagged with the loss. Ryan has allowed three or more runs in four straight starts, but despite the low win totals, he continues to make up for it with solid strikeout numbers. The 28-year-old has five or more strikeouts in nine straight starts, and his 138 punchouts this season are tied for ninth most in MLB.

Allows four runs in no-decision Ryan did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits over six innings against the Brewers. He struck out six.
Impact Ryan started strong, managing to avoid pitching from the stretch through four innings, with a third-inning two-out solo homer from Eric Haase representing the only batter to reach base against him. Ryan then ran into trouble in the fifth, allowing hits to four of the first five batters he faced with three runs crossing the plate. He managed to complete the sixth in line for the win, but a leaky bullpen prevented him from grabbing his seventh victory of the season. Ryan has now allowed nine runs through 11.1 innings over his last two starts, though his season stats remain impressive. Through 20 starts, Ryan has completed 120.2 innings with a 3.65 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 130 strikeouts. He's currently projected to next take the hill when the Twins travel to Detroit to take on the Tigers next weekend.
JULY 22 • ROTOWIRE
Tagged for five runs in loss Ryan (6-6) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings, taking the loss versus the Giants on Friday.
Impact Ryan avoided giving up a ohme run for just the second time in his last eight starts, but that was about the only positive for him in this outing. The five runs allowed matched a season high, and three walks were also the most he's given up in a start all year. The right-hander concludes a strong first half with a 3.53 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 124:19 K:BB over 114.2 innings through 19 starts. Ryan is likely to take the hill during the Twins' two-game home series versus the Brewers after the All-Star break.
JULY 13 • ROTOWIRE
Strikes out eight in win Ryan (6-5) earned the win against the Astros on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
Impact Ryan surrendered a run in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fourth while receiving plenty of early run support from his teammates. He generated 15 swinging strikes on 110 pitches and has completed at least five frames in each of his 18 starts this season. On the year, the 28-year-old owns an impressive 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 118:16 K:BB through 109.1 innings and lines up to face the Giants next week.

Surrenders four runs Ryan allowed four runs on six hits and struck out five without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Impact Ryan's run of three straight quality starts came to a close, as Arizona got to him early Tuesday. All four runs on his line were surrendered over the first two innings, though he was able to settle down and exit at 86 pitches (58 strikes). This was the fourth time in 2024 that Ryan avoided walking a batter. He's now at a 3.31 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 100:15 K:BB over 98 innings through 16 starts. He's projected to make his next start at Seattle.
