Henry Boyer - Full participant in practice Boyer (concussion) was a full participant in Illinois' team practice Tuesday, Jeremy Werner of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact In just one day, Boyer went from doing no contact to being out of a practice injury, suggesting he is out of concussion protocol and fully healthy. The tight end will aim to improve from Illinois' 2023 season, during which he logged three receptions for 20 yards. They were all recorded during September, also the last time Boyer has been targeted in a game.

Jordan Anderson - Back from quad injury Anderson (quadriceps) is back from his previous injury, Jeremy Werner of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact It only took approximately half a week for Anderson to be healthy again. He will compete for carries against Kaden Feagin, Josh McCray and Aidan Laughery. But if Illinois' Monday practice is any indication, Anderson will not have much room to excel, as he is expected to work behind all three aforementioned rushers.

Impact Considering that Boyer entered concussion protocol approximately half a week ago, Boyer being less than 100 percent Monday should not be a surprise. However, him going through drills less than one week after entering protocol is promising news. Boyer will look to be ready in two and a half weeks' time, when the 2024 Illini begin their regular season by hosting Eastern Illinois on Aug. 29.

Impact While earlier reports indicated that Anderson was fully healthy for fall camp, Illini head coach Bret Bielema noted that his tailback wasn't quite at full capacity just yet. Anderson missed the entire 2023 season after tearing his ACL in last year's fall camp, and will look to take the first snaps of his collegiate career this fall.

The timetable for his return is unclear, but it can't come soon enough for the Illini, who also just lost projected starter Cole Rusk to a season-ending knee injury.

Impact Rusk transferred to Illinois from Murray State, where he put together a highly productive year in 2023. The tight end reeled in 39 catches for 507 yards and six touchdowns, and was slated to be one of, if not the top tight end for the Illini this fall. Now, some combination of Tanner Arkin, Henry Boyer and Carson Goda look like the face of Illinois' tight end room this coming season.
